Potter

I just finished reading the latest Harry Potter book. I can't believe this is actually a kid's story. This is by far the darkest book of the series (and I thought the last one was really dark). I did enjoy it though. It is a fascinating story and I can't wait to find out how it all ends.

John - I'm coming out on your blog.... I LOVE Harry Potter... I'm actually re-reading HBP as we speak.... I saw the third movie and it didn't make sense so I broke down and got the books, and now I'm borderline obsessed.....

I agree with you that the story is incredibly dark, although by this time in the story the characters are 16/17 so the material has to progress with the characters.... I wonder what I'd think if I was a little kid and reading about all the death etc. Of course, even the first book starts out with Harry's parents getting murdered so the whole premise is rather dark. But I find the story to be very engaging, and I am longsuffering for the final book..... waiting for two years between books has caused me some serious relationship issues.... Harry and I need closure.

Jake - You are "re-reading" the Half-Blood Prince? It only came out a couple of months ago! You need help my friend. I agree about the closure thing. It's going to be a long wait for the final book. She really left it hanging at the end of HBP.

John & Jake - for shame! I suppose I should brace myself for your next round of confessions about a neurotic & slavish devotion to the "Left Behind" series or how you can't wait for the next installment of the "Work & the Glory" movies.

I shall puke for thee.

Now Clint... let's not get into THIS argument. Please tell me that you're going to endorce the new Left Behind movie: "Left Behind: World At War" which opens in churches (not theaters) on October 21, 2005... I hope every church hosts a screening of this movie, I know that whatever church in Denver that screens it will be the church I give all my money and time to, as my wallet will be redeemed through the Prayer of Jabez which Becky and I pray together 10 times every morning and 10 times every night (and sometimes during lunchtime)...
